Introduction
Some seasons announce themselves. Most don’t. One day the ground you’ve stood on for years simply isn’t there — a door closes, a provision dries up, a relationship shifts shape — and you’re left wondering whether you did something wrong, or whether God is doing something new.
Unsettled was written out of seasons like that. Not to explain every disruption, but to offer a way of reading them: Abram’s call before he had a map, Moses asking to know God’s ways and not just His acts, Elijah’s dried-up brook, Joseph’s detour through a pit, Naomi and Ruth’s grace to release one another.
For the next seven mornings, leading into release day, we’ll sit with one of those moments each day — a short reading, a verse, a question, a prayer to carry with you. You don’t need the book to start. Just seven minutes and a willingness to ask what God might be doing in whatever’s unsettled in your own life right now.

Day 1 — Aug 11: Called Before the Map
Read: Genesis 12:1
“Now Yahweh said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, and your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you.’”
Go came first. Where came later. The Hebrew behind “leave” — lekh-lekha — carries a reflexive sense: go for yourself, go into yourself. Abram couldn’t have found the land without first finding out who he was without Ur, without the family name, without the safety net.
If you’re waiting for the whole picture before you’ll trust the next step, you may be waiting on something God never intended to give up front.
TODAY: Take the one step of obedience you’ve been delaying until you “understand more.”
PRAY: Lord, I don’t need the whole road. I need to trust the One walking it with me.
